Groningen has historically been an extremely important region for the energy supply of The Netherlands. In the not-so-distant past, gas extraction was central, today Groningen is the Northern connection to the national grid of the major offshore wind projects.
As a result, S4 Energy is involved in the development and realization of large energy storage projects. In the Eemshaven, S4 Energy is currently developing a grid scale energy storage with an 8MW connection.
S4 Energy has been responsible for the full cycle from early development, EPC to commissioning and offers flexibility services to date.
