This groundbreaking installation is set to play a pivotal role in supporting both TenneT, the Dutch high voltage grid operator, as well as Stedin, the regional grid operator, in meeting the challenges of the accelerating energy transition. The project boasts a 10 MW connection and capacity of 44 megawatt-hours (MWh) and is designed to provide the much-needed flexibility to balance supply and demand, to integrate renewable energy sources, and ensure a stable energy supply.
This project aims to enhance grid stability by providing fast-response energy storage, crucial during peak demand periods and unexpected outages. The project is S4’s first new modular design: the system design can be easily scaled to meet current upscaling projects up to 200MW".
